An Official Statement From The Neopets Team

Fellow Neopians,

We understand that changes, especially those involving changes to the team structure, can lead to questions and concerns. Please know that these decisions are never made hastily - as a team, we are committed to thoughtful and strategic planning for the future of Neopets.

Out of respect for the personal privacy of all parties involved, we will not discuss HR-related decisions in public forums. We extend our best wishes to all our team members, both current and former, and appreciate the contributions of each individual to the Neopets journey.

Our focus remains steadfastly on fostering an open dialogue with our passionate Neopets community. As such, we recognise there has also been a lot of discussion surrounding our upcoming Fan Art Program.

This program aims to support our talented artists and ultimately provide them a platform to sell their artwork to other members of the community legitimately. In the past, strict policies have deterred this, resulting in a decades-long practice of underground fan art sales. We strongly believe authorising the sale of digitally created fan art is a step in the right direction.

We will continue to develop this program as we receive feedback from our art community. In the meantime, let us assure you that we are not taking any profit from our program participants. At the same time, we are committed to protecting our intellectual property and supporting our licensees with exclusive production rights on merchandise like plushies, pins, and apparel.

We all know change is hard, especially when the stakes are high. As difficult as it is for our community, we feel the same way. But here's what we know: Change is hard but necessary.  Thank you for your continued support as we move forward together in this journey.
