Introducing the Rare Bookshelf (Coming Early March 2026!)
Neopians, a brand new gallery is opening its doors. The Rare Bookshelf is almost here, and it is a cosy new place to display your Rare Books, show them off to other users, and customise your shelf to match your style.
Before you start dusting off your library card
While your existing library of readable books won’t be compatible with this specific display, we haven’t forgotten about your pet’s academic achievements.
The Rare Bookshelf is designed for a brand new collectable item type called Rare Books. These Rare Books are for display only and cannot be read to your pets.
If you’re hoping for a way to show off the books your pets have read, Pet Bookshelves are planned for the future, so stay tuned.
What are Rare Books?
Rare Books are special collectables made for the Rare Bookshelf. Each Rare Book belongs to a set, and completing a full set will earn special rewards.
You may spot Rare Books appearing in different corners of Neopia through events, gameplay, and other surprises. They can also be bought, sold, and traded like regular items.
When you are ready to add one, head to your Inventory and send it to your Rare Bookshelf, similar to adding stamps to an album. Just be careful, because once a Rare Book is added to your Rare Bookshelf collection, it cannot be returned to your inventory.
Customise your Rare Bookshelf
Ready to make your shelf feel like home? Bookshelf customisation items will be available in the NC Mall, including colour kits and themed decor kits, such as plants and plushies.
To help everyone jump in and try out the customisation features right away, the Colourful Bookshelf Kit will be free to claim at launch in the NC Mall (so you can start styling your shelf from day one).
To celebrate the launch, select Bookshelf bundles will also be 20% off for the first two weeks after release. Here are the original prices and the launch sale prices:
